Company has more than 1,200 clients nationwide. The company has shown consistent growth since their inception in 1997. It was ranked high on the Deloitte Fast 500 list of fastest growing IT companies over a 5 year period (nearly 2000% growth.) The company has been consistently profitable for over three years. Company has approximately 130 employees and ~$25M in revenues

OPPORTUNITY:

Under the leadership of the CEO, the company revenues have grown more than 3,000 percent since 2000. Company's initial growth came from financial institutions. The company has not received VC money since 2001. The company is now leveraging its position as the leading managed security provider to banks (with over 800 institutions) and taking this to the corporate SMB market. It just started this effort in 2005. This effort accounts for 20% of new revenue. They are looking for someone who can take it to next level. Right now is the time to expand into the general SMB market.

LOCATION:

The company is headquartered in Connecticut and has offices in Ft. Lauderdale, Charlotte and Raleigh. CEO prefers someone already living in one of these areas, but will consider someone who would work remotely. He will consider candidates that live near a major airport in the United States. The position requires you to travel for about 50% of your time.

COMPENSATION:

Base salary will be in the low to mid 100s. Should be able to at least double base with commissions. No cap on commissions. Plus, full benefits and opportunity for equity participation. PERSONAL SUMMARY: Position will report to the COO or Head of Sales & Marketing. Reporting structure will be determined by CEO at time of hire. While this is an entrepreneurial opportunity, there is the benefit of the company already being very successful in its initial market. Need people who are “doers AND thinkers.” Pure “thinkers” will not be successful in this company. Need someone who really wants an entrepreneurial opportunity. Someone who is comfortable wearing multiple hats. Need someone with good business instincts who is results driven. Need someone who is highly creative, can keep the ball moving forward and achieve tangible results.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Must have recent/significant channel development experience with security products and/or services.
   
• Must have experience targeting the SMB market.
   
• Need to be either currently employed or held a position within the last 6 months where you were responsible for channel development at a company that falls into one of the following categories: 1) Computer Networking/Hardware such as Cisco Systems, Juniper Networks and Netscreen Technology 2) Security Encryption Software, Hardware, Firewall such as Checkpoint, SonicWall, NetWolves, Secure Computing and WatchGuard 3 )Internet Blocking and Filtering Software such as Websense, Surf Control and 8e6 Technologies 4) Virus Protection Software such as Symantec, Norton, McAfee and Verisign.
   
• Candidates MUST have a rolodex of key players at ISPs and VARs. Client is focused on the SMB market.
   
• Must be able to outline 2 or 3 deals that you did within the last three years with ISPs and VARs.
   
• Must have someone who has built a Top Grade Sales Organization. Ensure that the sales team has the best possible talent (A players) at each level. Structure comp & incentive plans. Coach and keep top talent and remove non-performers efficiently. Initially, you will have four sales executives reporting to you. CEO expects you to build your team to 10-20 executives within your first two years, depending upon your results.

Need someone who will be hands-on and can just roll up their sleeves and get the job done. Need someone who is experienced at driving the process from start to finish. Need someone who can drive the deal from initiating the dialogue, to managing the process, to negotiating the terms, and closing the agreement. If you are used to taking the deal to a certain level before turning it over to another department or person, then this is not the right opportunity for you.
   
• Experience working in a dynamic environment, pure startup, startup within a large organization, spin-off, or an emerging market is preferred. Need someone who wants to work in an environment that constantly changes. Need someone who has a strong entrepreneurial drive and spirit. Need someone who knows how to do more with less. Prefer someone who has helped an organization grow from nominal revenues to phenomenal revenues within a relatively short period of time.
